Opis: Samec je zelený, naspodku a na spodných krídlových krovkách žltozelený.Zobák a oko spája úzky čierny pásik. Brada je čierna a na obidve strany z nej vychádzajú na líca čierne fúzy. Na celo tyle je ružový pásik, nad ktorým je modrasté sfarbenie. Stredné chvostové perá sú modrasté so žltozelenými okrajmi, vonkajšie sú zelené. Tmavočervená horná čeľusť prechádza do čiernej špičky, spodná čeľusť je čierna, s tmavočervenou škvrnou na báze, dúhovka je bledožltá, nohy zelenosivé. Samica nemá čierny pásik okolo krku, ružový golier a čierny pásik pri oku su málo nápadne. Tylo nemá modrastý nádych, stredné chvosotvé perá nie sú výrazne predlžené. Mladé vtáky sa podobajú na samicu, majú koralovoružový zobák s bledým koncom, sivastú dúhovku a sivé nohy.
Výskyt: Stredná a severovýchodná Afrika, Afganistan, západný Pakistan, India, Nepál, Srí Lanka, na východe až stredná Barma. Intrudukovaný na Mauríciu, v Zanzibare, v Egypte, v Adene, Omane, v Kuvajte, v Iraku, Iráne, Hongkongu, na Macau...

Chov: Chovali ho už starí Rimania. Do londýnskej zoo sa dostal r.1885, aj neskôr ho pomerne dosť často dovážali. V Čechách ho vystavovali už r.1880. Prvý odchov sa podaril Nemcovi Wigandovi r.1876. v Čechách Kasandovi r.1962. Dnes je pomerne bežný.
Potrava: Zmes pre stredné papagáje, ovocie (grepy,pomaranče,figy, jablká), zelenina, plody, piškóty, zelené krmivo, vetvy na ohrýzanie. V čase hniezdenia sa pridáva vajcová zmes.
